On June 25, a delegation from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT), including Arata Takebe, State Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, Aki Ishibashi, Director of the University Promotion Division, the Higher Education Bureau, and Taishi Nishiki, Director of the Private Education Institution Department, the Higher Education Bureau, visited Kanazawa University and toured College of Transdisciplinary Sciences for Innovation and MIRAICHI Research Center.
First, Trustee Akiharu Morimoto gave an overview of the university, then Professor Koichi Iiyama, Dean of College of Transdisciplinary Sciences for Innovation and others reported on their efforts to foster innovative human resources at College of Transdisciplinary Sciences for Innovation, and students reported on their corporate internship activities. Then, they exchanged opinions about education that integrates different fields and a wide range of learning at the university. After that, during the visit to the MIRAICHI Research Center building, the delegation received explanations about the accompanying support efforts of Kanazawa University, from research seeds to social implementation.
Finally, they were guided to the University Co-op store, where a staff member explained about Kanazawa University original sake "KOKOROZASHI," which the Kanazawa University students were involved in developing. They showed great interest in the original goods developed in collaboration with Kanazawa University and the community, and purchased many of them.
